No, No, No. The bathtub is not painted it is refinished with a special high tech acrylic. The pores of the tub are opened prior to the finish. Hence, the acrylic finish is absorbed in the tub giving a shine and feel like new.

Q. What is the difference between a bathtub liner and a refinishing?

A bathtub liner can cost over $2000 and is rectangle in nature taking away the original look of the bathtub, essentially covering up the bathtub and tiles. With the refinishing process the caulking is removed and the bathtub and tiles are brought back to life for a minimal cost that makes them look like new not covered up.
